Tung Chung Kindergarten is the fifth and newest kindergarten in ESF. It opened in Tung Chung in August 2016 and currently meets the needs of over 330 students. It is one of ESF’s largest kindergartens with over 11,000 square feet and was purposefully designed to enable flexible learning environments.
We introduced our first Dual Language classes in 2021 and now offer our Dual Language programme in both K1 and K2. Our teaching teams have developed co-teaching solid models and our Dual Language Programme is a popular choice for students in our community.
In response to our community needs, we opened our Pre-kindergarten programme in 2022. Tung Chung Kindergarten is now licensed as a child care centre and a kindergarten, which enables us to cater for our youngest learners on site. Our Pre-kindergarten programme offers two-year-olds a pre-PYP curriculum and a happy, creative community. This programme was so successful, it expanded to two full classes in 2023.
Our environment and provision continue to grow and adapt to best suit our students' learning and to ensure we offer outstanding experiences. In the last few years, we have introduced our outdoor learning programme for all students, as well as a rich parent volunteer programme.
