Tung Chung Kindergarten offers a vibrant and nurturing learning environment designed to inspire young learners. The school emphasises play-based learning, allowing children to explore various engaging activities that foster creativity and curiosity. With a variety of learning spaces throughout the campus, students have the opportunity to interact with different materials and resources, promoting hands-on experiences.
Our Classrooms: Spaces to discover and collaborate We have eight classrooms across our school where our children will spend time with their own class community. These spaces are designed to ignite curiosity among students and provide a sense of wonder each day upon arrival at school. Our teachers plan new and engaging provocations regularly that are tailored to the interests of each child. Classroom spaces offer a range of hands-on experiments and sensory experiences. Our spaces offer opportunities to collaborate with others. With various opportunities for open ended discovery, children learn to make connections across different subjects, promoting a holistic understanding of knowledge. |

Garden Our outdoor garden, and mud kitchen are essential components of our learning environment. These spaces provide children with limitless opportunities to play, explore, and create throughout the seasons. Whether they are creating meals in the mud kitchen, building forts, enjoying sensory play or planting seedlings, children develop essential skills while connecting with nature and their peers. |

Atelier Our atelier is a bright space for students to express their ideas. We work together on individual or shared projects as we inquire into different materials and processes. While experimenting with resources, children discover how different materials transform using a variety of tools and mediums. Students explore shadows, beads and wires, clay, paints and junk modelling as we develop our critical thinking skills and take ownership of their own investigations into materials. |

Kitchen Our students cook frequently in small groups, and our parents are always welcome to join in! Cooking enables children to actively engage their senses while exploring different processes, ingredients and tools. Learning through hands-on experiences develops children’s social, communication, and problem-solving abilities and supports language development. Our kitchen is not just for making delicious smoothies, soups and breads- we use it for science inquiries too. |
Additional areas for physical play Our learning environment embraces hands-on learning. We know that young develop holistically when their physical development is carefully considered and supported. Our additional play spaces include a well resourced physical play space which adapts throughout the year, offering opportunities to slide, climb and balance. We also have a purpose built indoor sand pit, where imagination takes centre stage as students dig, build, pour and explore with various materials. |

A World of Stories in Our Library Our library is a space where children can immerse themselves in stories from around the globe. Surrounded by vibrant books, in both mandarin and English, students share in the joy of stories and engage in research for their projects. This inviting space not only cultivates a love for reading but also encourages independent exploration and critical thinking. Our students borrow books for home reading once per week. |
